An Introduction to Microgrids

The energy industry is changing. Demand for decentralized energy sources that don’t rely on the traditional power grid—from solar cells to combined heat and power plants—continues to grow. At the same time, advancements in digitalization have already transformed many industries. The combination of these two forces has led to the emergence of small-scale power networks called microgrids. This article describes how microgrids operate, bringing together multiple power sources to maximize efficiency and ensure uninterrupted power.
