Your application

How can I apply?

You can apply very easily online. Just select the desired position under the job openings and click on “apply.” You can then prepare the application in your personal career area. With the online application, we make sure that your documents go directly to the correct contact person and that we can process them as quickly as possible.

What documents do I need for my application?

Please have the following documents on hand for your application: Cover letter, resume, school, training and employment certificates, final transcript or current grade report, additional documentation and an application photo (if you wish).

Are the job openings listed current?

The job openings listed on our website are always current. As soon as a position is filled, the posting is removed from the website.

Is there an application deadline?

There is no application deadline. You are welcome to apply as long as a position is posted.

What is the application process like?

After successful submission of your online application, you will first receive an automatic confirmation of receipt via email. In some cases, this e-mail may be in your spam folder. Further contact is made by e-mail or phone. If your application looks promising, we will invite you to an interview.

Can I apply for additional positions after a rejection?

You are welcome to apply again.

Can I apply for multiple positions at the same time?

If you have found more than one interesting position with us, you are welcome to submit multiple applications.

How long does an online application take?

Please plan about 10 minutes to enter and submit your online application.

Are there maximum file sizes for attachments (resume, certificates, etc.)?

Please note that each of your attachments must not exceed 5MB, however, you may upload as many attachments as necessary.

How long will my information be saved?

Your documents will be saved for four months in our applicant database.

How can I withdraw my application?

You can withdraw your application in our application system. Please note that you will then not be able to apply again for the same position.

Secondary school students*

Please note that we can only offer our apprenticeships or dual student programmes in German at this point as the supporting schools/universities do not offer other options.

What prerequisites must I meet for the training program?

Every profession has its own special prerequisites. You can find out what to expect in training and what prerequisites you need in the detailed descriptions of our training programs. Or just  contact us. We will be happy to answer your questions.

Which training programs are offered at which sites?

You can find the current training offerings for Friedrichshafen, Augsburg, Ruhstorf and Magdeburg here.

Can I do a secondary school student internship?

We offer secondary school students one-week trial internships in various professions in Friedrichshafen, for example in metalworking, electronics, business or engineering professions. Please apply in our career area with a cover letter, resume and your last three grade reports. Your contact person is Ms. Sandra Hanser.

Do we offer vacation jobs?

If you are over 18 years of age and have four to eight weeks of time in the summer to take a job, please apply online for our posted positions [link to “career area”]. The job postings are published on our website in April or May of each year. Please indicate your exact period of availability in the cover letter.

What documents do I have to submit for a secondary school student internship or a vacation job?

For a vacation job we need:

  • A short cover letter with indication of the desired work period
  • Resume
  • Grade reports
  • If applicable, matriculation certification, acceptance notification, school certification or conscription notification

Students*

Do we offer pre-internships?

We offer pre-study internship positions for mechanical engineering in the summer. The job postings are published on our website in April of each year. Please apply online for the advertised position.

Do I have to be enrolled in order to do an internship?

Enrollment is required during the whole period of your internship.

Do we offer vacation jobs?

If you are over 18 years of age and have four to eight weeks of time in the summer to take a job, please apply online [link to “career area”] for our posted positions. The job postings are published on our website in April or May of each year [link to “job openings”]. Please indicate your exact period of availability in the cover letter.

Can I write a thesis?

You will find all available thesis projects under the job openings. The individual start date is flexible. Please indicate the exact period in your application. You are also welcome to apply for more than one posted thesis project.

Is there a minimum period for internships, student jobs or thesis projects?

As a rule, we recommend a period of about six months for internships and thesis projects. The time frame can also be changed in individual cases. Please observe the relevant information in the job description. The minimum period for a student job is four months.

What documents must be submitted for an internship (abroad) or a thesis project?

Please enclose a current grade report, final transcripts, certificates and a current matriculation certification with your cover letter and resume. For an internship abroad we also need the cover letter and resume in English.

Are internships and theses paid?

Yes they are. The payment depends on the particular employment relationship.

Is it possible to start on a different date than written in the job advertisement?

Yes, this is sometimes possible. During your online application you have the possibility to specify your desired period. In addition we recommend you to indicate the period also in your cover letter. The responsible department will check if the beginning of your employment relationship is flexible. Please consider that we can only hire you in the beginning of a new month.

In my desired job advertisement there is not written a start date. When is the internship/thesis period going to start?

In this case the start date is not fixed. However, please keep in mind that we only hire at the beginning of a new month.
