Friedrichshafen/Hanover, November 11, 2013. In future, Rostselmash a Russian agricultural machine manufacturer will give preference to engines from mtu in its combine-harvesters and forage-harvesters. The Tognum subsidiary MTU Friedrichshafen and Rostselmash concluded this agreement at this year’s Agritechnica in Hanover.

The letter of intent stipulates that in future years up to 3,000 Rostselmash vehicles per year will be equipped with engines from mtu of Type 6R 460, 6R 906 and 6R 926 covering the power range from 130 to 375 kW. The mtu in-line engines, which are based on the Mercedes-Benz models, meet EU Stage IIIA and EPA Tier 3 emission specifications and will be used among others in the combine-harvester Torum 740 as well as in the RSM 1401 forage-harvester. The agricultural machines are intended for the Russian market as well as for export markets such as Poland, Rumania, Hungary or Turkey. Rostselmash is the biggest agricultural machine manufacturer in Russia with production sites in Russia and Canada.
