  • Silver in Human Resources category at Cannes business film festival
  • Innovative format impresses international jury of experts

Friedrichshafen, October 23, 2012. Tognum, the specialist for propulsion and power solutions, has again received distinctions for its recruiting film ‘The Battle’. At the ‘Corporate Media & TV Awards’, the business film festival in Cannes, an international jury of experts singled out Tognum for the Silver Dolphin in the Human Resources category, in which the film prevailed over 24 nominated international entrants.

“The competition between companies to secure highly qualified personnel is getting tougher and tougher. And not only the prospect of a challenging job, but also of a good work-life balance is important. That Tognum is able to offer that spectrum is very much reflected in the film,” said Ingo Metzer, personnel chief at Tognum AG.

“In our concept for ‘The Battle’, we consciously chose to move away from the documentary genre and towards a promotional format, which is unusual for the recruiting market. The film, however, is still very much grounded in the reality of the world of work at Tognum. This was a brand new approach which highlighted the so-called ‘War for Talents’,” said Regine Siemann, head of Global Employer Branding at Tognum.

This year, the ‘Corporate Media & TV Awards’, the business film festival in Cannes, gave accolades to over 130 contributions in a total of 36 categories, including corporate films and videos, TV documentaries and reports and on-line media. Its international jury comprised media and communication experts, members of the film industry and Oscar winners. They judged a total of more than 600 entries from 35 countries.

The prize-winning film ‘The Battle’ can be viewed on the Tognum website, and also on the main social media sites such as Facebook and Xing. It already boasts over 13,800 hits on YouTube, where it can be called up under ‘Tognum Careers’ at http://www.youtube.com/user/tognumcareers?feature=results_main.
