Hannover - DaimlerChrysler Off-Highway, one of the world's largest suppliers of diesel engines and drive systems for agricultural machines, is presenting its product range at Agritechnica 2003. Eight different engine series in the output range 75 kW to 899 kW are available to manufacturers of agricultural machines. In addition, there are three VM Motori engine series with outputs between 20 kW and 220 kW which are available now via the DaimlerChrysler Off-Highway sales organization. They will be used not only in the agricultural sector, but also in a wide variety of other applications.

DaimlerChrysler AG focusses all off-highway activities in the DaimlerChrysler Off-Highway Business Unit. This business unit includes the scope of business of MTU Friedrichshafen, the off-highway parts of DDC and the off-highway share of DaimlerChrysler's Commercial Vehicle Division.

With sales of EUR 1.6 billion (2002), DaimlerChrysler Off-Highway is one of the world's largest suppliers of off-highway drive systems. Its sales and service organization is established globally with 15 subsidiaries, 150 distributors and 1,000 authorized dealers. DaimlerChrysler Off-Highway is represented in the market by the mtu and Detroit Diesel brands. In addition to the agricultural machines sector, these engines and drive systems are also sold in other industries, including industrial, construction and energy production sectors. This produces synergies for those companies that not only operate agricultural machines, but also other devices such as generator systems, pumps or construction vehicles. These customers receive drive systems, servicing and spare parts from the same provider.
