Tognum sponsors Match Race Germany

• Patron of the elite international sailing event

Friedrichshafen, 12 May 2011. Stars from the world of sailing will gather in Langenargen on Lake Constance to take part in Match Race Germany from 24 to 29 May. And Tognum, the specialist for propulsion and power solutions, will be one of the cast. Tognum is a patron of the international sailing event and one of the seven 40’ yachts at the starting line will be sporting its logo.

The Tognum Group, which owns the mtu core brand, has been a sponsor of Match Race Germany for over a decade. "We are pleased that Tognum is on board and remains as a strong partner at our side," said Harald Thierer from Match Race Germany GmbH, the organizer of the event.
Match Race Germany is the only German stop in the World Match Racing Tour - a world championship race in which seven world-class sailing teams take up the duels for victory in 40’ racing yachts.
The races take place every day from Tuesday, 24 May to Saturday, 28 May between 9:00 and 17:00 hrs. The final is on Sunday, 29 May between 13:00 and 16:00 hrs. Entry for spectators is free-of-charge.  
Even when Match Race Germany is over, the Tognum yacht will continue to be out and about on Lake Constance, where it can be chartered for sailing trips and used for corporate events and other functions.
