Latest generation of trainees celebrates completion of courses

31 trainees at Tognum subsidiary MTU Friedrichshafen have successfully completed their final examinations.

Friedrichshafen, March 7, 2013. 31 trainees at Tognum subsidiary MTU Friedrichshafen have successfully completed their final examinations. At the diploma presentation ceremony, head of Personnel Development Steffen Besserer praised their achievements so far: “You have now achieved your first goal. But don’t rest on your laurels. Keep on learning.” mtu has seen to it that their entry into the world of work will be as smooth as possible and will be offering all of the trainees permanent positions provided that their performance and conduct are satisfactory.
Trainee Annika Liewer was particularly successful on her course as `industrial management assistant with a supplementary qualification in international business management with foreign languages´, receiving a special award from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. “We have studied hard and achieved a lot. Now we want to show what we can do as specialists in our own fields,” said Mareike Timmermann and Lisa Ersing, two newly-qualified industrial mechanics who acted as spokespersons for all of the trainees at the ceremony. Deputy Chairman of the Works Council Thomas Bittelmeyer called on the new co-workers to be creative, inquisitive and open-minded and to adopt a pro-active approach to ideas for change.
The majority of the 31 graduates were industrial mechanics. In addition, there were six electronics technicians for automation technology, one mechatronics technician, one management assistant in office communications with supplementary foreign languages, and three industrial management assistants with a supplementary qualification in international business management with foreign languages. Worldwide, the company is currently training 409 students in eight different vocations and nine courses of study.
