Honorary membership of the Supervisory Board of MTU Friedrichshafen for Irmgard Schmid-Maybach

The Supervisory Board of Tognum subsidiary MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH has elected Irmgard Schmid-Maybach as a lifetime honorary member of that board.
The Supervisory Board of Tognum subsidiary MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH has elected Irmgard Schmid-Maybach as a lifetime honorary member of that board.

Irmgard Schmid-Maybach accepted the appointment with pleasure, stating: “I am delighted about this honor and see that the company is developing positively. As a family that has been connected to the company since it was founded in 1909, we will continue to do our best to support it.”

With this appointment, the Supervisory Board is honoring the commitment and efforts for the company of Irmgard Schmid-Maybach, granddaughter and daughter of the founders of mtu, Wilhelm and Karl Maybach. The Schmid-Maybach family holds a 3% equity interest in the Tognum Group, to which mtu belongs.

The Executive Board of Tognum AG fully supported the proposal to elect Irmgard Schmid-Maybach, who was previously a member of mtu’s Supervisory Board until the company was sold by Daimler AG in 2005. Tognum’s Executive Board Chairman Volker Heuer stated: “We are absolutely in favor of this appointment, because Ms. Schmid-Maybach has always provided her full support for the company, and not only in good times.“
