109 NEW TRAINEES AT ROLLS-ROYCE POWER SYSTEMS

At the end of summer 2017, 109 trainees and students on courses of dual study started out on their professional careers with Rolls-Royce Power Systems and its subsidiaries in Germany and abroad.

Insgesamt nahmen 109 Auszubildende bei Rolls-Royce Power Systems im In- und Ausland ihre Ausbildung auf. Am Standort Friedrichshafen starteten 54 Auszubildende und 16 duale Studenten in das Berufsleben. Patrick Müller, Leiter Personal international und Shared Services Deutschland bei Rolls-Royce Power Systems, und Alexandra Klatt vom Betriebsrat bei MTU Friedrichshafen begrüßten die neuen Azubis bei einer Einführungsveranstaltung. Unter den Auszubildenden sind auch zwei Flüchtlinge, die Anfang des Jahres zusammen mit acht weiteren Teilnehmern ihre berufliche Einstiegsqualifizierung bei MTU Friedrichshafen absolviert haben. A total of 109 trainees began courses with Rolls-Royce Power Systems in Germany and abroad. 54 apprentices and 16 students on dual study courses started out on their careers at the Friedrichshafen location. Patrick Müller, Head of HR International and Shared Services Germany at Rolls-Royce Power Systems, and Alexandra Klatt from the Works Council at MTU Friedrichshafen greeted the new apprentices at an initial event. Bei der Tochtergesellschaft L`Orange in Glatten begannen zehn Industriemechaniker ihre Ausbildung. Außerdem starteten vier duale Studenten in das Berufsleben. The L`Orange subsidiary in Glatten saw ten industrial mechanics begin their apprenticeships. In addition, four students started out on dual study courses. JPG, 7 MB

Bereits zum 1. August startete eine Fachkraft für Lagerlogistik die Ausbildung. Zum 1. September begann eine Industriekauffrau in Ruhstorf ihre Ausbildung. One apprentice specializing in warehouse logistics set out on a training course on August 1. A second apprentice, an industrial management assistant, followed on September 1. JPG, 8 MB

Bei MTU Reman Technologies in Magdeburg sind sechs neue Auszubildende gestartet: Zwei Zerspanungsmechaniker und vier Industriemechaniker. Six new apprentices started out on courses at MTU Reman Technologies in Magdeburg: two cutting machine operators and four industrial mechanics. JPG, 486 KB

Bei der norwegischen Tochtergesellschaft Bergen Engines haben zwölf neue Auszubildende in sieben verschiedenen Berufsfeldern begonnen. At Norwegian subsidiary Bergen Engines, courses began for twelve new apprentices in seven different career areas. JPG, 4 MB

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, GERMANY – At the end of summer 2017, 109 trainees and students on courses of dual study started out on their professional careers with Rolls-Royce Power Systems and its subsidiaries in Germany and abroad. “For 98 years now, we have been providing young people with training of a very high standard and simultaneously securing our contact with the qualified specialists of the future,” said Marcus A. Wassenberg, CHRO and Director of Labor Relations at Rolls-Royce Power Systems.

Training and dual study courses in Friedrichshafen


A total of 54 apprentices and 16 students of technology from the Cooperative State University began courses of training at the Friedrichshafen location. Among them are two refugees who gained their initial professional entry qualifications at the MTU Friedrichshafen subsidiary before being accepted for traineeships in metalcrafts technology. Consisting of 20 new apprentices, the largest group is made up of industrial mechanics. “Our apprentices and students have chosen a first-rate employer. Rolls-Royce Power Systems is an international company that can offer young people a wide range of career opportunities,” said Patrick Müller, who heads HR International and Shared Services Germany at Rolls-Royce Power Systems. “Our Works Council commits itself to getting training placements for as many young people as possible every year. We are really pleased that Rolls-Royce Power Systems takes the same line. Every company needs a mixture of young and old,” added Alexandra Klatt, member of the Works Council at MTU Friedrichshafen.

Training at other locations in Germany


At the L`Orange subsidiary in Glatten (Black Forest), ten industrial mechanics and four students on dual courses embarked on four different study programs. mtu Onsite Energy Systems in Ruhstorf (Lower Bavaria) is running courses for one specialist in warehouse logistics and one industrial management assistant whilst two industrial management assistants and one electronics technician for industrial systems began training in Augsburg. And at MTU Reman Technologies in Magdeburg, courses are underway for two cutting machine operators and four industrial mechanics.

Courses at international locations


The Bergen Engines subsidiary in Norway is running courses for twelve apprentices in seven skill areas. Two are undertaking a four-year study program similar to the dual study courses in Germany – they spend three days a week at college and two at the company. Two production specialists are also undergoing training at mtu Onsite Energy in Mankato (USA).
