Always looking for ways of making engines more efficient and more robust, mtu experts from Rolls-Royce have come up with a new solution: They coat the heart of the engine, i.e. the crank drive comprising crank shaft, conrod and pistons, with a special material that's as hard as a diamond.
Turbochargers are used to make internal combustion engines more efficient – but their benefits are not restricted to those engines alone. Fuel cells as well need the compressed air that a turbocharger provides.
