The ferry St Faith of the British shipping company Wightlink, built in 1990, is getting a new, modern automation system in the form of the Alarm & Monitoring System (AMS) of the type mtu NautIQ Core.

Rolls-Royce powers record-breaking vessel in China

BeiYou26 is a national record-breaker in more ways than one. 70.6 m long and 17 m wide, the vessel can accommodate 1,200 passengers and is the largest ferry with aluminum hull ever to have been built in China. The vessel is powered by 16-cylinder mtu-brand Series 4000 units.
Two recently built high-speed ferries built by Spanish shipyard Gondan Astilleros for cruise and ferry operator Krilo Kapetan Luka are equipped with twin mtu-brand 16V 4000 M63L units.
A special SAR Kit (SAR = Search and Rescue) for sea rescue vessels enables mtu engines to keep running at extreme inclinations or even capsizing. A digital inclination sensor and special software now make the system even better.
