  • Rolls-Royce Power Systems' company health insurance fund celebrates its milestone birthday
  • Strong roots in the region, a reliable partner for modern healthcare
  • Congratulations from Health Minister Manne Lucha

BKK mtu, the company health insurance fund at Rolls-Royce Power Systems, is celebrating a special milestone this year. Founded in 1915 for the employees of the predecessor company Luftfahrzeug-Motorenbau GmbH in Friedrichshafen, it now looks after almost 17,000 insured persons from the ranks of Rolls-Royce Power Systems and its Friedrichshafen-based subsidiary Rolls-Royce Solutions, as well as their families. "For 110 years, we have been supporting people through all phases of life – with reliability, expertise and a clear focus on their needs," says Roland Dietz, CEO of BKK mtu. "Our strength lies in the personal, tailored support we provide to our insured members." And its name continues to bear the mtu brand, which stands for the company's products.

Founded in the context of Friedrichshafen's industrialisation, BKK mtu is closely linked to the history of the company. This proximity continues to shape its profile today – with a deep understanding of the working world of its insured members and tailor-made services. Its regional commitment goes beyond occupational health care: BKK mtu supports the "Volleyball macht Schule" school project, promotes carefree moments in nursing homes with the "Rote Nasen" (Red Noses) initiative, and teaches healthy lifestyles in a playful way at the company's own MiniTU kindergarten.

"Healthcare is a key issue for our employees – both at work and in their private lives. BKK mtu supports them with a great deal of commitment, expertise and a sense of what is feasible," emphasises Thelse Godewerth, Chief People Officer and Director of Human Resources at Rolls-Royce Power Systems. The health insurance fund is an integral part of the company's corporate identity. Its operations stand for social responsibility in practice and for a care model that focuses on proximity and a sense of proportion.

A key feature of BKK mtu is its personal approach: insured members receive expert advice on site, by telephone or digitally. The office in Friedrichshafen remains a permanent point of contact, supplemented by solutions such as the BKK mtu app. In addition, there are benefits such as subsidies for prevention courses, osteopathy, health holidays and programmes for families or people with chronic illnesses.

One thing makes BKK mtu special: as a company-based health insurance fund, BKK mtu is only available to the company's employees and their families. This makes it part of a network of only around 24 company health insurance funds across Germany – firmly rooted in the industrial structure of the respective companies. "Company health insurance funds such as BKK mtu stand for proximity, trust and individual care," emphasises Anne-Kathrin Klemm, member of the executive board of the BKK umbrella organisation. "They know the working environment of their insured members inside out – and can develop tailor-made offers that really hit the mark and thus also support their sponsoring companies in keeping their employees healthy."

Company health insurance funds such as BKK mtu will continue to be important partners in modern healthcare in the future – close to the people, approachable and reliable. "Care is provided locally in the regions. Networks and good cross-sector structures are extremely important for this," says Manne Lucha, Minister of Health for Baden-Württemberg. "Regional company health insurance funds in particular make a significant contribution. Through tailor-made prevention programmes, they can offer their insured members a wide range of services and, in consultation with the sponsoring company, create health-promoting living environments. This is entirely in line with the guiding principle of 'preventive and digital before outpatient before inpatient'. I wish BKK mtu continued success in this endeavour!"
