New Managing Director for MTU Onsite Energy GmbH Fuel Cell Systems in Ottobrunn

Ottobrunn/Friedrichshafen, 30 June 2009. With the appointment of Karl P. Kiessling (55), MTU Onsite Energy GmbH Fuel Cell Systems in Ottobrunn, a member of the Tognum Group, will be getting a new managing director as from 1 July 2009. Ulrich Ruwier, one of the two managing directors of the specialist for stationary fuel cells above 200 kW, is leaving the company to pursue new professional challenges. Michael Bode remains on the board as joint managing director responsible for fuel cell technology.
Karl P. Kiessling joins the company from SenerTec Kraft-Wärme-Energiesysteme GmbH in Schweinfurt. In the course of the last ten years, as sole managing director, he has developed the company into one of the major manufacturers of micro CHP plants (MCHP).
Kiessling earned a degree in physics at the Technical University of Karlsruhe. He spent the first ten years of his professional life with KSB AG in Frankenthal, where he began his career in the environmental technology field as a project manager for solar pump systems. Subsequent steps in his career included positions in export and marketing, and responsibility for a large KSB branch office. Following a number of positions as sales director in subsidiary companies of Babcock AG and Friedrich-GROHE GmbH, Kiessling moved to SenerTec GmbH.
