State secretary commend’s Tognum’s childcare scheme

Friedrichshafen, July 12, 2013. In her visit to propulsion and power generation specialist Tognum on 10 July 2013, state secretary Annette Widmann-Mauz took a special interest in health and HR issues. The main theme of her visit was the wish of the company’s health insurance section to be awarded more scope for initiative in matters of company health management.   Its request that the necessary political steps be taken to provide more leeway sent a clear signal to the parliamentary secretary of state in the Federal Ministry of Health. This would enable it to take targeted action in future, such as measures to prevent respiratory disease, to better protect the health of the workforce.  

Jörg Schwitalla,   the member of the Executive Board responsible for HR and Integrity, took the state secretary on a tour of Tognum's new child-care center.   Annette Widmann-Mauz was visibly impressed by the range of care options on offer in line with the latest pedagogical concepts, and praised the high level of social responsibility shown by Tognum, who is one of the very few companies with its own childcare facilities:   "You can see that great attention to detail has gone into designing the rooms for the children.   At the same time, thought has been given to the needs of employees, regarding, for example, proximity to the workplace," she said. Over 40 childcare places are available for children between six months and six years on more than 1,500 square meters of space.
