"I’m impressed, Keep it up." said Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck (centre) when he visited the stand of Hoeller Electrolyzer at the currently ongoing Hannover Messe on Tuesday.

Last year, Rolls-Royce Power Systems had acquired a majority stake in the Wismar-based company, which is working on an electrolysis cell stack for the production of hydrogen. It is the heart of the mtu electrolyser, which Rolls-Royce Power Systems engineers are currently developing in Friedrichshafen and elsewhere.

Andreas Görtz (right), President of Rolls-Royce- Sustainable Power Solutions, and Robert Müller (right) of Hoeller Electrolyzer emphasised to the Minister that for the energy supply of the future, flexibility options such as battery storage and electrolysers should be promoted by politics alongside renewable energies. Simpler licensing procedures and standards for the development of hydrogen ecosystems, from production to distribution and application, are also part of these incentives. Habeck promised to provide support here and spoke positively about the re-conversion of stored hydrogen into electricity. "Without political investment incentives, we at Rolls-Royce Power Systems see the international competitiveness of Europe in the field of hydrogen technology at risk," said Görtz.
