Milan - At the PowerGen Europe from June 11 until 13, 2002, mtu will be pre-senting a new Genset engine, the 20V 4000. With a maximum output of 3010 kW, this is the most powerful engine worldwide with 1.500/1.800 rpm that can be used as a generator engine for both 50- and 60-Hertz applications. It is equally suited for generating emergency power, peak current or continuous cur-rent. Thanks to its favorable power-weight ratio, it can be employed in a wide range of settings, in particular for rooftop installations.

With the 20V 4000, mtu is continuing the product offensive initiated in 1995 when the 2000 and 4000 series were first launched. The optimized exhaust gas version of the 20V 4000 meets all current emission requirements. The engine will be available for serial production from July 2002.
