Friedrichshafen, 29 April 2011. 51 young people have completed their training at Tognum subsidiary MTU Friedrichshafen. “They have learned a lot and they have successfully completed the first stage in their vocational journey. Now they have to get to grips with the next milestones in their careers,” said Gerhard Müller, head of Operative HR and Personnel Development, at the leaving ceremony. And mtu has made sure that the transition to the world of work goes as smoothly as possible by making permanent jobs available for everyone who made the grade in terms of performance and conduct.
In view of the company’s resurgent growth following the financial crisis, prospects for the new generation of employees look very good. “Whether it’s in Friedrichshafen or at one of our other locations, our new employees have good opportunities for employment and development,” said Gerhard Müller. Head of Vocational Training, Martin Stocker, was particularly pleased at the success of the two trainees who joined mtu to complete their courses after their original training company had to close down. This year’s graduates also include Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) award winners. Industrial management assistant Michaela Lohmann and machine assemblers Volker Lay and Hakan Secil received recognition for outstanding performance.
26 of the 51 newly qualified workers are industrial mechanics and in addition there are 2 machining technicians, 4 machine assemblers, 8 electronics technicians for automation technology, 7 mechatronics technicians and 4 industrial management assistants with an additional qualification in international business management with foreign languages. The company is currently training a total of 245 young people in 10 different vocational areas and 7 study courses.
