mtu Onsite Energy Corporation merges with MTU America Inc.

On 1 January 2018, mtu Onsite Energy Corporation merged with its parent company, MTU America Inc., to form one legal entity. While the legal name and federal tax identification number will change, the organization will continue to do its power generation business under the brand name “mtu Onsite Energy”.

Mankato, Minn. – On 1 January 2018, mtu Onsite Energy Corporation merged with its parent company, MTU America Inc., to form one legal entity. While the legal name and federal tax identification number will change, the organization will continue to do its power generation business under the brand name “mtu Onsite Energy”.

This merge will not affect business operations. mtu Onsite Energy will continue to provide the same high-quality products and services that its customers rely on. mtu Onsite Energy will remain at its current locations with the same team members providing business services.

mtu Onsite Energy is one of the core brands of Rolls-Royce Power Systems. Under this brand, Rolls-Royce offers complete power system solutions including diesel and gas-based mission critical, standby and continuous power systems.

In North America, mtu Onsite Energy generator sets are assembled in Mankato, Minnesota. The Power Drive location is capable of full-scale generator set testing and produces products ranging from 30kW to 3,250 kW.

In 2007, mtu America’s parent company—which operated as Tognum at the time of the sale—acquired Katolight Corporation, a generator set manufacturer and packager founded in 1952 in Mankato, Minnesota. One year later, Katolight was renamed as mtu Onsite Energy Corporation.
