Friedrichshafen, 14 March 2012.  The specialist for propulsion and power solutions Tognum and its subsidiary MTU Friedrichshafen will be represented at the IBO 2012 exhibition from 21 to 25 March. Visitors to the B2-300 booth will be able to find out at first-hand what an apprenticeship or dual study program at Tognum involves. To help them get an idea of the company’s products, an mtu locomotive diesel engine will also be on display at the booth.

“Our training specialists and apprentices will be available at the booth to answer visitors' questions. Activity areas will also be set up to allow visitors to have a go themselves, giving them an in-depth view of the training opportunities Tognum has to offer,” said Martin Stocker, head of vocational training. Whilst trainees explain what counts in business occupations, industrial mechanics invite youngsters to try their hand at drilling and assembly on the work benches. A small diesel engine is also showcased to show visitors how a living product is developed from a drawing. School classes who have registered at the IBO information stand for the “Training Project – Experience Training” program can even have a go at assembling this engine themselves.

Besides information on the company and its products, visitors also gain insight into business and industrial occupations such as social insurance specialist or mechatronics technician. Trainees also provide information on dual study courses such as the Bachelor of Engineering program in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering, or Bachelor of Arts courses in industry or international business studies.
