Friedrichshafen, 11 March 2010. The specialist for propulsion and power solutions Tognum has again been named one of the most attractive employers in Germany. Having already received the accolade “Top Employer for Engineers 2009”, the company has now been awarded the quality title “Top Employer in Germany 2010”.
Since 2003, the international research institute CRF has singled out companies in Germany across all branches of industry who display excellence in personnel management. This serves as a guide to university graduates who are starting their careers and looking for suitable employers. In their latest study, CRF analysed and evaluated companies according to their market position and image, corporate culture, development opportunities, work-life balance, remuneration and job security. 93 companies qualified for the quality title.
In a comparison of companies, the Tognum Group, whose main subsidiary is MTU Friedrichshafen, stood out for the particularly strong position it enjoys on its national and international markets. It also won recognition for its strong commitment to talent management. In Tognum’s international Trainee Program, young professionals are given the opportunity to prepare optimally for future responsibilities over a period of 18 months. “Expert knowledge can only be acquired through many years of experience with our products and applications”, pointed out Joachim Coers, member of the Tognum executive board with responsibility for human resources. “This is why we want to attract the best people and keep them in the long-term”. Tognum’s pursuit of this strategy has proved successful, despite the economic upheaval worldwide. Unlike many other companies, Tognum was able to handle the sharp drop in business using flexible internal measures to safeguard jobs without having to introduce short time. It can therefore offer a high degree of job security, which the CRF rated positively in its comparison.
