Tognum subsidiary mtu France opens new after-sales service center in Southern France

Tognum, the specialist for propulsion and power solutions, opened a new after-sales service center in Pégomas in the South of France for its subsidiary mtu France today.

Operating from mtu´s new after-sales service center in Pégomas in the South of France, the customer service is able to reach all important marinas between Monaco and St. Tropez within the shortest of time. Depuis la nouvelle antenne de service après-vente de mtu, à Pégomas, dans le sud de la France, le service après-vente atteint en un très bref laps de temps tous les ports de plaisance se trouvant entre Monaco et Saint-Tropez. Friedrichshafen/Pégomas, 20 March 2009. Tognum, the specialist for propulsion and power solutions, opened a new after-sales service center in Pégomas in the South of France for its subsidiary mtu France today. In the future, mtu will be able to provide customers with its spare parts and top-quality service even faster than is already the case. On the Côte d’Azur, the number of ships powered by mtu engines has substantially increased over the past few years, with the yacht segment booming in particular.

The new service center in Pégomas replaces mtu´s previous location in Mandelieu. Pégomas is located about ten kilometers northwest of Cannes. The new site was selected primarily because of its proximity to the large Mediterranean marinas. Ninety percent of the Mediterranean ship population are concentrated along the 150-kilometer coastline from Monaco to St. Tropez. Large yacht harbors such as Monaco, Cannes or Antibes as well as Nice with its port for passenger liners and patrol boats are located here. Power generation plants in Southern France are also provided with technical support from Pégomas. On an area of
3,000 sqm, mtu operates a workshop and a spare parts store for engine servicing and overhaul. The new service center with its workforce of 40 is responsible for the entire organization and coordination of the mtu customer service in Southern France. At the integrated training center, customers as well as mtu service technicians are continuously trained in engine mechanics and electronics.

With the new after-sales service center in Pégomas, the Tognum Group consistently continues its strategy of expanding its after-sales business and further decentralizing its sales activities. Organizationally, Pégomas is part of the Tognum subsidiary mtu France based in Beauchamp near Paris.
