Rolls-Royce appoints Christoph Bernstiel as head of its German capital office

Rolls-Royce has appointed Christoph Bernstiel as the new head of the company's Berlin office. As Senior Vice President Government Relations Germany, Christoph Bernstiel will lead the company's government relations activities in Germany and support the technology group's growth in Germany during this crucial phase. He will report to Dr Jörg Stratmann, CEO of Rolls-Royce Power Systems and Rolls-Royce's representative in Germany, and will also report to Alex Zino, Head of Global Government Relations.
The British technology group Rolls-Royce employs around 10,500 people at approximately ten locations in Germany, including Friedrichshafen, Dahlewitz and Oberursel. They develop, produce and maintain energy systems for safety-critical equipment and propulsion systems for heavy land and marine vehicles under the mtu brand, as well as aircraft engines for business jets, large commercial aircraft and military applications.
Dr Jörg Stratmann says: ‘With his experience in government and business and his strong network, Christoph Bernstiel will significantly advance our government relations and political strategy. Bernstiel was a member of the German Bundestag and most recently Head of Government Relations at the technology group Rohde & Schwarz. He holds degrees in political science and sociology, communication sciences and PR, has worked internationally and participated in the US State Department's International Visitor Leadership Programme. As a member of the German Bundestag, he was a full member of the Interior Committee and the Enquete Commission for Artificial Intelligence.
