During the mtu virtual Marine Summit, industry experts explain and discuss green and sustainable solutions for the shipping industry.
What role can shipping play in stopping global warming? How can we protect the environment and run a profitable business at the same time? What will be the major drivers, market trends and solutions in our maritime future?

Those are just some of the questions that will be debated during the mtu Virtual Marine Summit from 18 to 20 May. During the event, whose motto is 'Dive into a world of solutions',   experts shall point the way forward on how to reduce greenhouses gases in shipping in a sustainable way without compromising performance or reliability. The experts on hand shall come from Svitzer A/S, Damen Shipyard, SCHOTTEL & Fairplay Towage Group, Sea Machines Robotics Inc, Robert Allen, Rederij Doeksen, the Water Emergency Transportation Authority of San Francisco (WETA), the Foss Maritime Company and Duisburger Hafen AG (Duisburg Port). In eleven practice-oriented sessions, as well as in an interactive exhibition space, chatrooms, and networking lounge, they shall inform and exchange views with the conference attendees. The keynote speech shall be given by Prof. Hans-Otto Pörtner, member of the World Climate Council and marine biologist at the Alfred Wegener Institute.

Coming together to discuss green shipping solutions

“To find the best propulsion concepts for a climate-neutral future, there has to be an interplay between shipyards, operators and ship owners,” explained Denise Kurtulus, Vice President Global Marine at Rolls-Royce Power Systems. She added, “I invite everyone to attend the virtual symposium, take a look with us at the world of sustainable solutions, and join our discussions. That will give us all a better understanding of the possibilities in Green Shipping – from planning and design to construction and daily operation.”
